My birthday is summer time. No classes in school. People are busy with their families for a holiday. There are things I never experienced everytime my birthday comes like...
having a birthday card – i always receive valentines card, a hello card, christmas card but never a birthday card. When I was in college, I remember our organization where I belong always prepare a big birthday card where each of our brods and sisses can write their greetings and wishes to the celebrant. I never had since my birthday is summer and no one is in the university to write down or make one. Probably I will never receive a birthday card anymore as people already do their greetings in text message or a call or email or just an ecard.
I never experienced to celebrate a birthday in school and so singing a birthday song for me – I feel envy everytime my classmates were given a birthday song. It happens to them yearly but never to me.
I never had a cake in my birthday and so never blew a candle in a birthday cake. I don’t know why there is always no cake during my birthday.
Probably the best birthday I ever had is when I celebrated my birthday in Los Bańos four years ago. I celebrated it at my friend’s house (pache). All of my friends were there, we had fun. Me and my friends cooked and prepared Filipino dishes. I remember, I even prepared a palabok. And that’s my first time to make that. Then my friends were also busy preparing food for my birthday. That’s the sweetest birthday I had.
Actually, Im glad at my work today as people there look forward for my birthday. I love gifts (who doesn’t like) and two of my closest friends in office always prepare a gift for me. I always cherish it. An effort to look a gift for me gives a very nice feeling. A simple note card in their birthday gift puts me in high spirit that I feel I also received a birthday card.
When I was a kid, I always receive a gift from my papa. Its always the one which I look forward to. I really feel so special. But now that Im having my own salary and my papa is already retired and no one gives me an extravagant gift anymore I just give myself a present. This is usually having a new phone or having a trip. I hope this year, I can have one again.
