1. Yodm – this gives me four desktops. Its a cube and it rotates. I can shift to different background just by rotating the cube. The tool works with XP and Vista. They say linux is the pioneer of this but since I don’t patronage linux, this yodm is the best alternative.
2. Madotate – lets you manage open windows by way of a nifty D barn-door effect. You can make it also as translucent. If your not a vista user and doesn’t have flip 3D, Madotate is the best. It works both for XP and Vista too.
3. Dreamscene – a video file can be used as a desktop background. Its fantastic and will not bore you just by staring at your desktop. This can be downloaded from Windows Extra and works only for Vista Ultimate.
4. Rocketdock – this makes your icons looks like that in a mac. You can put all your shortcuts in a dock so it will be one click only. You can also place your open windows in the dock.
5. Firefox Add-ons –
a. Piclens – it shows all the pictures you are looking for, either from flickr, google, deviant art.
It gives a 3D- effect that makes more pleasing to the eyes. You can compare side by side all the pictures as choosing the right picture for you becomes easier
b. Cooliris – gives a preview of what the site looks like.
Others:
1.Xeeber – this is to check if your contacts in ym are just appearing offline.
