Cebu foods

What I like about Cebu is its a big promising city but life there is not too fast and not too slow.. everything is just simply mixed just like the food there..in variety… mixed with foreign and local foods that you’ll surely forget your diet.

1.The seaweeds – this is what I always look for whenever am in Cebu. In my every meal, I always look for these seaweeds as it’s like my meal is not complete without these seaweeds. They have name for each of these seaweeds but the one I remember is called lukot.

2.Bibingka – in Bantayan island, I saw this little girl cooking these bibingka. For only 5 pesos each, you can taste this delicious freshly cooked native food. Cooking it in their own ”oven” using the coconut husks make it more delicious and smells so good. I bought two pieces at first but then I bought 3 more coz was so yummmmmy. Babalik-balikan talaga.

3.Persian palate – in ayala center, I was looking forward to eat in my favorite restaurant there which is the Bigbys where the great steaks will be found. Unluckily, there are so many people and no more table for me so I looked for an option til I saw this Persian Palate restaurant. Since I love Persian foods, I guess choosing this one would be a great choice too. I ordered naan with chorizo dip ad chello kebab. I did not go wrong choosing this restaurant coz the food is so great that I even bought something for home, a real Indian wheat bread.

4.Worker food – I call this as a worker food coz it is so simple and cheap and is available in office canteen for the employees. It tastes good but I always like things to be presented nicely for me to enjoy more the food. Anyhow, this is what I always end up at my 2pm lunch.

- The puso is almost everywhere in cebu, that’s how they cook their rice. I guess to make the rice smell s better and easier to carry if you’re going to a picnic/beach. This one I ordered in bantayan island with grilled chorizos (one of the cebu’s best food) and grilled chicken with seaweed. The trip to cebu will not be complete unless you tried to eat their grilled foods.

5.Must taste foods – seafoods is also a must in cebu. Fish, squids, crabs.. wow, must must must. The flavored chicken in Jonies is also a must. When I first went there, it was so full of customers so I just went back the other night. I don’t know, its like I cannot say my trip to cebu is complete if I didn’t eat in Jonies. Their chicken is so tender that I love it.

6.The pasalubongs – when my friends and family learned that Im in cebu, everybody asked me to bring them dried mangoes, mangorind, mango puree, chicharon, turrones and the danggit and dried pusit. Thanks they understand me why I can’t bring CnT lechon.
