Manila zoo improved a lot compared to my last visit here ( that was ten years ago). Im not an animal lover (though not hate them either)so it always took me a while to visit a zoo. It is cleaner, lots of animals to see, lots of activities to do, the ambience is lot lot friendlier and the costs are reasonable where the whole family can enjoy. .
Upon entering, the elephant will greet the visitors. I don't know though if its the same elephant i saw here ten years ago but i love seeing an elephant that i asked my niece to take a souvenir shot of me where the elephant is in the background. I might see this creature after 10 years again :)
Birds, fishes, rhinocerous, tigers, zebra, monkeys, gorilla, ostrich, turtles, crocodiles, sheeps are just few of the animals we enjoyed looking at the zoo. I just wish there will be giraffe here again soon.
My initial goal why i decided to bring the kids in the zoo is only to educate my nieces. I want them to see what those animals on tv and in books looks like in real. But, Manila has lots to offer now aside from just looking/interacting with the animals that it has also become like a leisure park for us.
My niece enjoyed her horseback riding, we had fun in our boat ride where the goose, peacocks, birds and swan (which my niece call the swan princess)are just around.
Going to Manila zoo made our weekend very educating and entertaining. Just for few pesos, the kids and not so kids(like me) will surely enjoy the zoo.

Boat ride (30 minutes) 80 ( with paddler, 40 pesos if youll paddle your own)

* if you decided to bring your own food for lunch and snacks, there are many available tables for this and its for free.
* kinder zoo is optional. It is also inside the zoo but you can have close encounter with the animals that you can touch them, carry them, ride on them.
