Journey to Crater lake in Taal Volcano

Last independence day, we have decided to do a nature tripping day out… the place.. Taal Volcano crater.

From Manila -> we went to Tagaytay City -> passed Ligaya drive -> until we reached the town of Talisay, Batangas where the foot of the volcano is located.

It was already 12 noon when we reached Taal Lake Yacht Club (TLYC). This is where I booked our trip going to the crater. TLYC is a nice, spacious and serene place where lots of hobie fleets used for sailing will greet you at the entrance.

We were welcomed by Sonia, one of the staffs of TLYC. She showed us first the flamingo restaurant where we can eat for lunch. I had delicious big nice Hungarian sausage, egg, bread and butter while watching the people sailing, kayaking in the lake. What a great and refreshing view while having lunch. I told sonia I will do the kayak once were done with the crater tour.

At 1pm, we decided to do the journey to the crater. Sonia fixed the boat for us and the horse which am going to ride. It took us about 20 minutes ride to the boat til we reach the lakeshore on the central island of Taal Lake. They took us then to the horse named Patricia which am going to use. I really had fun taking a ride, I feel like a senyorita visiting my vast property of land(dream dream dream). I always ask my guide to ask the horse to be good and not to run since I’m afraid to fall.

In less than an hour we reached the top and really enjoyed the breath-taking view taal lake and taal volcano gives. We took pictures in every angle of the mountain. We don’t like to miss even an inch of the beauty of taal. We also had fun talking with the locals where pangga became a Sta.claus giving lots of freebies to the locals.

After about two hours on the top of the mountain, we decided to go back to TLYC. And I really had fun once again in my horsey horsey ride.

It was already past 4pm when we arrived in TLYC, too sad that I can’t do the kayak anymore since its too late already. Anyway, hope next time if we have a chance, will go back here to do kayak and go down to the crater lake.

At 6pm, we de decided to go back to tagaytay. Our driver dropped us off to Leslie's Restaurant and we had fun with our bulalo dinner. Leslie's is a nice place which caters filipino foods facing the nice view of taal volcano. The place was also surrounded by tagaytay fog that gives us a more heavenly feeling.

Our nature tripping is definitely a great great experience for us. The adventure, the lake, the trees, the volcano, the crater, the taal lake yacht club, the food, the horse back riding thing and the locals we met along the way definitely made our journey remarkable.
